Ben Farella

After studying Economics and Political Science and serving as the Student Union President at Laurentian University, Ben later pursued Communication Studies at the University Of Nice in Southern France. Ben has held a number of senior positions with marketing communications firms across Canada since 1988.
He co-founded Delta Advertising & Design in 1988 in Sudbury, acting as President until 1990 when the company merged with Henderson & Associates in 1992. With partners, he purchased Fedeli Advertising in North Bay, later re-launching the firm as Benjamin James. As President, Ben built the firm into Northern Ontario’s leading integrated marketing services company.
In 1997, Ben and his partner sold their equity stake in Benjamin James to the public corporation, Axia Netmedia, thus folding their operation into their marketing services division, Parallel Marketing Communications. Ben took over as President of the Ontario Operation with combined employee totals of over 150 people, overseeing national accounts including Canadian Pacific Railways, Royal Bank and the National Bank Of Canada files as well as many diverse regional tourism, travel and fashion projects including Yukon and Alaska Tourism, The Canadian Museum of Nature and the Oasis clothing line.
In 2000, Ben co-founded Help On Board Incorporated, a fundraising solutions company that services the not-for-profit sector in North America and helps to raise millions of dollars for organizations through the development of unique sponsorship related platforms. He serves as President and majority shareholder to this day. The company has joint venture offices in Denver, Colorado and Monterrey, Mexico and is actively pursuing access into other global markets.
In 2001, Ben and his partners purchased a performance based results division of Parallel entitled Zero Gravity back from Axia and Ben returned from Ottawa to North Bay to run the Ontario side of the business. Today, he takes on only selective projects for Zero Gravity that he and the company have a personal or strategic interest in.
Since 2004, he spends one day a week acting as CEO for Benjamin James Marketing Communications, an Ontario based firm servicing a variety of Canadian companies and institutions with their marketing requirements.
He has been involved in a number of arts and entertainment related projects across the country serving in various capacities including investor, marketing consultant, producer and actor. Ben is a member of Canada’s Actors Equity Association and ACTRA and has acted in number of theatre and film based projects over the last ten years.
Throughout this time, Ben has sat on a variety of industry-related boards and commissions including his most recent passion, the Students On Ice Foundation, which brings high school students from around the world to both the Antarctic and the Arctic, to study the effects of global warming on our environment.
Ben brings his varied array of experiences as well as his creativity, passion and team building skills to all projects he is involved in. He has been a guest speaker at a number of functions and events across Canada and is currently in discussion with The National Speakers Bureau to represent him and create a larger audience for his talents in this arena.
