2009 FedNor Secondary School Business Plan Challenge.
This year's FedNor Secondary School Business Plan Challenge was extremely successful and reached its highest participation level to date with 85 plans entered into this provincial competition. The first place winner of the Business Plan Challenge will move on to compete at the provincial level in the fall. This challenge, funded in part by both the federal and provincial governments, engages youth and introduces them to the world of entrepreneurship.


Business Plan Challenge
• 1st Place – Jocelyn Benoit, a West Ferris Secondary School student, won for her business plan "Picnic Perfect Tables” and will be going on to compete at the Regional level.
• 2nd Place – Anik Labonte, an Algonquin Secondary School student, won for her business plan "4U Scrapbooking".
• 3rd Place – Melissa McLaughlin, a West Ferris Secondary School student, won for her business plan "Fruity Loopies".


Marketing Plan Challenge
• 1st Place – Elana Von Doeler, a West Ferris Secondary School student, won for her marketing plan "Von Doeler’s Ranch".
• 2nd Place – Devon Marson, a West Ferris Secondary School student, won for his marketing plan "Caddyshacks".
• 3rd Place – Alexandra Parker, an Algonquin Secondary School student, won for her marketing plan "Ringuette Xtreme”


Honorable Mentions
• Courtney Perrin, a West Ferris Secondary School Student, for her plan “Memory Lane”.
• Adam Bethune, a Chippewa Secondary School student, for his plan “Bethune’s Brewery”.
• Brody Barks, a Parry Sound High School student, for his plan “G. Bay Outdoors Adventure”.

Students will be recognized at the awards dinner and ceremony on September 10th, 2009.
